A Study to Check Liver Health in Boys With XLMTM, a Serious Genetic Muscle Condition
XLMTM (X-linked myotubular myopathy) is a serious genetic muscle condition. It is caused by changes in the MTM1 gene which stops or slows down normal muscle development, causing severe muscle weakness. There is currently no cure for XLMTM. Ongoing care is needed to manage symptoms and prevent further medical problems …
Multidimensional Phenotype Classification in Grade 3 Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia
Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD), or chronic lung disease of prematurity, is the most consequential complication of preterm birth and is strong predictor of childhood pulmonary and neurodevelopmental disability, particularly in infants diagnosed with grade 3 BPD (ventilator dependence at 36 weeks' postmenstrual age), the most severe disease form. This study aims …
Myocardial Mechanisms in Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction
The purpose of this study is to identify changes in heart tissue structure and biological function in patients with heart failure by performing an endomyocardial biopsy (EMB or heart biopsy) during a right heart catheterization (RHC). The ultimate goal is to use this information to develop new treatments for heart …
A Study of Participants with Β-Thalassemia Treated with Betibeglogene Autotemcel
The main aim of this study is to collect real-world longitudinal data on participants with β-thalassemia treated with betibeglogene autotemcel (beti-cel) in the post marketing setting. To assess the long-term safety, including the risk of newly diagnosed malignancies, after treatment with beti-cel and evaluate the long-term effectiveness of treatment with …
Increasing Pre-Surgical Identification of Muscle Invasive Tumor Evaluations Prior to Planned Cystectomy (INSITE)
This trial aims at investigating the diagnostic ability of a combined diagnostic panel including systematic endoscopic evaluation (SEE), blood-based ctDNA assay, and urine-based cfDNA assay to predict the presence of residual tumor remaining in the bladder at cystectomy. Patients who are planned for cystectomy due to bladder cancer will be …
Prostate Tissue BioBank
Prostate cancer is also the most common cancer in men with inherited pathogenic variants in BRCA1 and BRCA2. Beyond BRCA1/2, other genes are known to increase the risk of prostate cancer, including ATM, TP53 and HOXB13. We have shown that 5% of men diagnosed with prostate cancer localized to their …
Phenotype, Genotype and Biomarkers 2
The purpose of this study is to learn more about amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other related neurodegenerative diseases, including frontotemporal dementia (FTD), primary lateral sclerosis (PLS), hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP), progressive muscular atrophy (PMA) and multisystem proteinopathy (MSP). More precisely, the investigator wants to identify the links that exist …
Remote Sputum Collection in Cystic Fibrosis
Elexacaftor/Tezacaftor/Ivacaftor or Trikafta improves lung health in people with cystic fibrosis (CF), including decreased cough and mucous production. Diagnosing lung infections has become more challenging due to the decrease in sputum and rise of telehealth services. While the option of collecting sputum samples at home and sending them by mail …
A Clinical Study of the TSX Dental Implant System (Xpresso)
A prospective, observational, multicenter study where 62 patients needing implants in the maxilla or mandible will be enrolled. The patients will be restored with a final prosthesis no later than 4 months following implant placement surgery. The patients will come back for follow-up evaluations yearly for 2 years.
Diagnostic Utility of SGLT1/2 Inhibition to Facilitate Myocardial Glucose Suppression
This is a pilot mechanistic study of the diagnostic utility of sodium-glucose cotransporter-1/2 inhibition (SGLT1/2) on myocardial glucose suppression on FDG PET/CT. The investigators will test whether the addition of a SGLT1/2 inhibitor (SGLT1/2i) plus the standard dietary modification (ketogenic diet) will provide enhanced myocardial glucose suppression. The primary objective …
