Safety and Efficacy of Transarterial ICG Fluorescence-Guided Laparoscopic Anatomical Liver Resection

This multicenter, ambispective cohort study evaluates the safety and efficacy of trans-arterial Indocyanine Green (ICG) fluorescence-guided laparoscopic liver watershed resection for Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). The study aims to compare the outcomes of the trans-arterial ICG staining approach versus the conventional trans-portal (portal vein) ICG staining approach.

Liver Transplantation for Unresectable Intrahepatic Colangiocarcinoma After Sustained Response to Neoadjuvant Treatments

This is single-arm, observational, academic, investigator-driven study investigating the efficacy of liver transplantation after successful and sustained downstaging/tumor control of liver-limited unresectable intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. The downstaging protocol includes chemotherapy +/- immunotherapy and transarterial radioembolization (TARE) with Yttrium-90 in various combinations.

Fecal Microbiota Transplantation for the Prevention of Infectious Complications After Liver Transplantation

The increasing emergence and spread of MDRB represents a major public health problem, with higher mortality in patients experiencing infections. Cirrhotic patients listed for OLT and after OLT are at high risk of MDRB colonization or infection due to the large use of broad-spectrum antibiotics in the post-transplant setting. Therefore, …

Evaluation of Pulmonary Complications in Liver Transplantation Patients Based on Machine Learning

The main objective of this study is to develop a machine learning model that predicts moderate-severe prediction model of pulmonary complications in liver transplantation patients within 14 postoperative day using a real-world, local preoperative and intraoperative electronic health records, not administrative codes.

Conversion Surgery Vs. Palliative Care in Pancreatic Cancer Oligometastatic to the Liver

This study investigates the impact of surgical resection compared to palliative care in patients with oligometastatic pancreatic cancer limited to the liver. Specifically, it examines whether surgery after stable disease or response to chemotherapy can improve survival and quality of life. The international, multicenter randomized trial will recruit 56 patients, …

Collection of Blood and Tissue Samples From Patients With Primary Liver Cancer.

The project aims to collect blood, tissue samples, and clinical data from patients with primary liver cancer (mainly hepatocellular carcinoma and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma) undergoing systemic therapy, surgical resection, or liver biopsy. Primary liver cancer is a growing global health challenge, with over one million cases expected by 2025 and a …

Standard Volume vs. High Volume Plasma Exchange in Pediatric Acute Liver Failure

Acute liver failure is a multisystem disorder characterized by a syndrome of jaundice, coagulopathy, and encephalopathy with high mortality in the absence of liver transplantation. The pathogenesis of multiorgan failure (MOF) in ALF has been attributed to the release of damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) from injured hepatic cells and microbial …

Decoding Epigenetic Mechanisms Driving Immune Evasion in Liver Cancer With Omics Approaches

This is a national, observational, retrospective, cross-sectional, non-profit study focused on patients with HCC. The study aims to characterize the expression and function of novel noncoding regulatory transcripts, including those containing TEsin the microenvironment of liver tumors, with emphasis on their role in T cell dysfunction.

Safety of Atezolizumab-Bevacizumab in Liver Transplanted Patients With Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma

The prognosis of liver transplanted (LT) patients with recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), especially those with progression after locoregional treatment or advanced HCC, remains poor. Current treatment modalities involve tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) characterized by a low response rate and often poor tolerability. Encouraging findings from the Imbrave 150 study, …

Screening for Advanced Liver Fibrosis Using Non-invasive Tests in Primary Care

Liver fibrosis screening is possible at the asymptomatic stage through a healthcare management strategy currently recommended for patients with risk factors for chronic liver disease. It is based on a sequential strategy involving a 1st-line test, fibrosis score calculation (FIB-4). Given this opportunity to identify advanced fibrosis in asymptomatic patients, …
