Evaluating Signs of Safety: A Deaf-Accessible Therapy Toolkit for AUD and Trauma
The U.S. Deaf community - a group of more than one million Americans who communicate using American Sign Language (ASL) - experiences nearly triple the rate of lifetime problem drinking and twice the rate of trauma exposure compared to the general population. Although there are several treatments for alcohol use …
Neural Connectivity During Therapy for Adolescent PTSD
Posttraumatic stress disorder in adolescence impairs neurobiological networks underlying cognitive, social and emotional skills. Neuroimaging research that seeks to identify the neural mechanisms of treatments for PTSD could lead to novel treatments, but progress has been slow using current methods. The proposed study uses an innovative approach to identify neural …
Lofexidine Combined With Buprenorphine for Reducing Symptoms of PTSD and OU Relapse in Veterans
The overall objective of the proposed study is to determine if lofexidine (LFX) as an adjunct to buprenorphine (BUP) treatment improves symptoms of both opioid use disorder (OUD) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Other study objectives are to compare the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of BUP treatment alone, to BUP …
tAN for PTSD and OUD in Buprenorphine Therapy
The goal of this research study supported by the HEAL Initiative (https://heal.nih.gov) is to investigate the effects transcutaneous auricular neurostimulation (tAN), as delivered through the Sparrow Ascent device, on helping people with co-occurring posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and opioid use disorder (OUD) start and continue buprenorphine treatment. The main questions …
Mitigating PTSD-CUD After Sexual Assault
683,000 women are sexually assaulted annually in the United States, half of whom develop chronic posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and thus have markedly increased risk for cannabis use disorder (CUD). The current proposal will test the acceptability, initial efficacy, and mechanisms underlying a novel digital therapeutic targeting risk for PTSD-CUD, …
Novel Telemedicine-Delivered Prolonged Exposure Therapy for Treating PTSD in Individuals With OUD
Among individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) presents a significant clinical challenge. The prevalence of PTSD is substantially higher in individuals with OUD than in the general population, with nearly 90% reporting lifetime trauma exposure and 33% meeting diagnostic criteria for PTSD. The primary objective of …

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) with associated headache are amongst the most common injuries sustained by our deployed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as in more recent conflicts in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. This study aims to determine whether a procedural intervention …
Integrated Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder and PTSD
This study will test a therapy intervention, HOPE, for individuals with opioid use disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder. Interested individuals will need to be taking medications for opioid use disorder (e.g., suboxone, naltrexone, methadone). Interested participants will complete a 10-12 week therapy, and be asked to complete surveys.
'Effectively Intervening in Traumatized Parents and Young Children After Structural Domestic Violence: A Multiple Baseline Analysis'
