We attempt to perform dynamic endotyping of critically ill patients presenting in the emergency department with de novo acute hypoxemic respiratory failure (AHRF). We also attempt to identify what clinical, radiological, physiological and biological variables collected early in the course of AHRF correlate with subsequent mortality and/or persistent severe hypoxemia.
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is a complex disorder and remains the most common complication in very preterm infants. Its incidence is increased with gestational age from 95.5% among infants born at 22 weeks' gestation to 22.2% among those born at 29 weeks' gestation. BPD is associated with the increased risks of …
The present study will investigate whether the combined use of lung and brain ultrasonography is useful in selecting the optimal positive end-expiratory pressure in mechanically ventilated critically ill patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome and acute brain injury, aiming at an individualized, brain-protective ventilation strategy.
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether methylprednisolone improves outcomes in critically ill patients with a hyperinflammatory phenotype. It will also evaluate the safety of methylprednisolone at different doses. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does methylprednisolone improve organ function compared with placebo? Does methylprednisolone …
Acute hypoxemic respiratory failure may progress to acute respiratory distress syndrome, a life-threatening condition that often requires mechanical ventilation. The optimal ventilation strategy in this patient population remains uncertain. The SVALBARD trial is a feasibility and pilot study designed to compare spontaneous versus controlled mechanical ventilation in patients with acute …
This study aims to investigate the potential factors contributing to the development of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) in patients undergoing pulmonary resection with Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) for lung malignancy. The study will focus on demographic data, laboratory parameters, perioperative fluid management, and haemodynamics. The research will be conducted …
Bronchial asthma may present with symptoms other than the commonly reported complaints (cough, chest tightness, shortness of breath and wheezing). Less common symptoms include chronic or recurrent productive cough, inspiratory dyspnoea or recurrent pneumonia. Children presenting with these symptoms are often diagnosed with asthma bronchiale and benefit from antiasthmatic management.
This is an open-label, single arm Phase II study designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of thoracic radiotherapy for extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer treated with PD-1/PD-L1 plus etoposide platinum followed by PD-1/PD-L1 maintenance therapy
This study is a randomized, open-label, multicenter exploratory research aiming to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Adebrelimab in combination with chemotherapy (etoposide and platinum-based therapy) as neoadjuvant treatment for resectable stage I-IIIB (stage IIIB limited to T1-4N1-2M0) small cell lung cancer (SCLC). The study is primarily conducted at Tangdu …
Investigate the role of consolidative radiotherapy treatment at the thoraco-mediastinal level in the patient suffering from lung microcytoma - extensive disease and treated with chemo-immunotherapy with atezolizumab, in association with maintenance therapy with atezolizumab.
