This multicentre, randomized controlled trial evaluates the effect and safety of acupuncture combing with PD-1 inhibitors plus chemotherapy in NSCLC. Participants will be randomly assigned to undergo either acupuncture or sham acupuncture concurrent with the initial four-six cycles of chemotherapy combined with PD-1 inhibitors.
The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to examine the effect of an acupressure intervention in alleviating cough and reducing co-occurring symptoms (dyspnea, cough, and fatigue) in patients with lung cancer. The hypotheses are: Acupressure can alleviate cough in lung cancer survivors; Acupressure can reduce a cough-related symptom cluster …
Lung cancer is the leading course of cancer related deaths world-wide. Lung cancer screening will increase the number of small lung lesion in need of biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. Obtaining lung biopsies with a bronchoscopy has the lowest risk of complications (1-2%) compared to other modalities such as transthoracic …
This Phase II, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot study will evaluate the effects of fisetin, a senolytic flavonoid compound, on lung function and biomarkers of cellular senescence in older adults aged 60 years and older. Participants will include individuals with a history of at least 10 pack-years of smoking as well …
The purpose of this randomized controlled study is to evaluate the extent to which injection of a small amount of fluid in the pleural cavity at the biopsy site may reduce the risk of pneumothoraces, in addition to patient positioning to allow biopsy in gravity-dependent areas of the lung.
This study is testing a new way to help manage pain after a double lung transplant. Instead of relying only on strong pain medicines like opioids, doctors will use a cold-therapy probe during surgery to help numb the nerves near the incision. Researchers want to see if this method can …
This project aims to assess the expression levels of novel molecular markers identified through screening in clinical samples of malignant pleural effusion, to evaluate the feasibility and clinical utility of these markers as potential diagnostic genes for lung adenocarcinoma.
Patients undergoing lung resection surgery may experience changes in respiratory function during the perioperative period. Current monitoring methods provide important clinical information but are often limited to specific time points and may not allow continuous assessment of ventilation. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility and usefulness of the AirGo™ …
Emphysema linked to alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (DAAT): towards a better prediction of risks Emphysema caused by alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (DAAT) is a rare genetic disorder that can lead to serious complications, such as the need for a lung transplant or death, affecting up to 15% of patients. The only specific treatment available …
The goal of this clinical study is to validate C-mo System's ability to automatically detect and characterise cough, in patients over 2 years old with cough as a key or refractory symptom. The main questions it aims to answer are: Can C-mo System detect cough events? (automatic cough detection) Can …
