Overview

The study aims to show that treatment with LtAPD works better than a sham treatment or simply monitoring the condition closely without active treatment ("active surveillance"), in achieving complete healing of a tissue abnormality on the cervix called CIN 2, after 6 months. This will be confirmed by examining tissue samples under a microscope (histopathological examination).

Description

Participation in the study lasts 6 months. Eligible participants are randomly assigned to one of two groups: participants receiving LtAPD treatment (treatment group) or participants receiving a sham procedure, in which LtAPD treatment is simulated but not actually applied (control group). All participants continue to be managed according to the current standard of care, active surveillance with regular monitoring, throughout the study. Participants remain blinded to their treatment assignment. The study includes four visits.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
