Overview
The goal of this comparative cross-sectional study is to learn about the effects of gestational diabetes on lumbopelvic stability in primigravida subjects. The main question it aims to answer is:
Does gestational diabetes effect lumbopelvic stability during pregnancy?
Description
This comparative cross-sectional study will be conducted over ten months at Fatima Memorial Hospital, Gulab Devi Hospital, and Ganga Ram Hospital. A total of 170 primigravida women in their second trimester (aged 20-40 years, singleton pregnancies, BMI 18.5-29.9 kg/m²) will be enrolled through non-probability convenient sampling and divided into two equal groups of 85 women each, with and without GDM. Women with high-risk pregnancies or spinal/pelvic comorbidities will be excluded. Lumbopelvic stability, dynamic balance, and pain intensity will be assessed by using the Active Straight Leg Raise (ASLR) test, Y-Balance Test (YBT), and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), respectively, and data will be analyzed by using SPSS version 27.0.
