Overview

The study will focus on the comparative effects of aerobic exercises and Jacobson's progressive relaxation technique on pain, fatigue and quality of life in primary dysmenorrhea.

This study will be a randomized clinical trial and will be conducted in, Superior college depalpur and Army public schools and college Lahore (APSACS). Non probability convenience sampling will be used to collect the data.64 participants will be selected on the basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria and will be equally divided into two groups by sealed opaque enveloped .Participants having age group between 17-24 years and diagnosed with WaLiDD score are included.

Description

Primary dysmenorrhea (PD) refers to menstrual pain without organic lesions in the pelvic cavity , which mainly manifests as spastic pain and distension above the symphysis pubis in the lower abdomen before and after or during menstruation, radiating to the lumbosacral region and inner thigh. PD is a common gynecological disorder affecting 50%-90% of women.

Athletes and married women will be excluded. Outcome measures will be taken using Numeric pain rating scale (NPRS) for pain, EQ-5D-5L questionnaire for quality of life, fatigue assessment scale for fatigue. Both Groups will receive same baseline treatment which is core muscle strength. Group A will receive aerobic exercises and Group B will receive Jacobson\'s progressive relaxation technique for 3 times in a week. The treatment will be given for 8 weeks. Outcome measures will be measured at baseline and after 8 weeks. Data analysis will be done by SPSS version 25.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
