Carvedilol for Pre-primary Prophylaxis of Esophageal Varices in Cirrhosis
Patients of cirrhosis aged 18 to 75 years who have no esophageal varices will be enrolled. After baseline evaluation, the participants will be randomized to receive either Placebo or Carvedilol 12.5 mg BD. After randomization they will be followed up for one year.
EUS-PPG Alteration After Ligation and Sclerotherapy in Esophageal Varices
Acute variceal bleeding due to cirrhotic portal hypertension is a life-threatening emergency in gastroenterology. Current preventive strategies include non-selective β-blockers (e.g., carvedilol/propranolol), endoscopic therapy (sclerotherapy or band ligation), and transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). While pharmacological and TIPS interventions directly reduce portal pressure, the impact of endoscopic therapies on portal …
Cross-section Band Ligation Versus Stepladder Band Ligation of Esophageal Varices
The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to evaluate the cross-section band ligation technique versus the stepladder band ligation technique in esophageal varices prophylaxis. Researchers will compare cross-section and step ladder band ligation techniques for esophageal varices prophylaxis regarding efficacy, side effects, variceal recurrence, and survival. Participants will undergo …
Esophageal Varices Prophylaxis in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Treated With Atezolizumab and Bevacizumab
The goal of this prospective cohort study is to evaluate the progression of esophagogastric varices in patients treated with atezolizumab-bevacizumab. Assess the efficacy of primary prophylaxis of small esophageal varices with no risky signs and shortening endoscopic follow-up time intervals to reduce the risk of variceal hemorrhage. Researchers will assess …
Comparative Clinical Efficacy Between Multi-layer Bandage Pressure Therapy and Gradient Pressure Elastic Stocking Treatment After Endovenous Radiofrequency Ablation
Objective: To assess the clinical efficacy of different compression methods within 48 hours after endovenous radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in terms of great saphenous vein closure rate, postoperative complications, quality of life, time to return to normal work, and patient satisfaction.
Antibiotic Prophylaxis in Patients Undergoing GVO
We design a randomized trial to clarify the necessity of antibiotic prophylaxis for the patients chronic liver disease with gastric varices treated by elective GVO.
2D-shear Wave Spleen Elastography in Clinically Significant Portal Hypertension and High-risk Varices
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the role of spleen shear wave elastography (SWE-SSM) for ruling in and ruling out clinically significant portal hypertension (CSPH) in patients with compensated advanced chronic liver disease (cACLD) and for ruling in and ruling out high-risk esophageal varices (HRV) in patients …
Prophylactic Endoscopic Variceal Ligation in Patients With High-risk Esophageal Varices Receiving Atezo/Bev for HCC
The goal of this study is to evaluate whether prophylactic endoscopic variceal ligation (EVL) can prevent esophageal variceal bleeding in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) receiving atezolizumab and bevacizumab (Atezo/Bev) therapy. The study will also assess the safety of prophylactic EVL in this population. The main question it aims to …
Trial of Ovarian Vein and Pelvic Vein Embolization in Women With Chronic Pelvic Pain and Pelvic Varices
The purpose of this study is to see if a randomized controlled trial of ovarian vein and pelvic vein embolization versus venography alone could determine outcomes for women with chronic pelvic pain and pelvic varicose veins. The data gathered will assist in addressing changes in quality of life in patients …
Carvedilol Versus Endoscopic Band Ligation for Primary Prophylaxis of Oesophageal Variceal Bleeding
Carvedilol versus endoscopic band ligation for primary prophylaxis of oesophageal variceal bleeding in cirrhotic patients with arterial hypertension
