Eligibility

Inclusion Criteria:

  • cirrhotic patients with oesophageal varices
  • cirrhotic patients without oesophageal varices

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Patients with hepato-cellular carcinomas [HCCs], portal vein thrombosis, hepatic encephalopathy.
  • Patients with positive HCV antibody, but without liver cirrhosis diagnostic criteria
